Who is your favourite architect? Why?
My favourite architect is Lei Zhang, and his Concrete Gap House is one of my favourite projects. In contrast to the pursuit of shocking appearance, what I am looking for in architecture is spacial, functional and aesthetic logic hidden inside systematic design and ordinary surface. His architecture reminds me of a Chinese saying, “a man of great wisdom often appears slow-witted”. The same thing happens in architecture.

What is the major characteristic of your current school’s education?
My university does not locate in big cities, thus it’s not that famous and some students did hear of it not until they went there. One of its advantages is that it’s a super practical place, most of the students are hardworking and steady. In architecture school, teachers take care of function mostly, but they also encourage new ideas and new technics. If someone is seeking for his/her own path in architecture, it’s not easy to gain help from teacher, but classmates are always there to discuss.

What have you gained during the MAD internship?
Internship in MAD is interesting. I gain new friends, new experiences, and see how people live differently. Meanwhile, my software skills are highly improved.I’m always in Paris Batigonoll project, which is to be built soon, and now it’s in some point between Design Development and Schematic Design. I love this project and think it’s lucky for me since it’s the first project I involved in its building process, and I learn a lot about modeling based on construction.

What are your thoughts and feelings upon Chinese Architecture and the environment?
Any suggestion?
As it known to all, China is such a booming place that projects are developed within short period of time. Thus majority of the buildings are produced like products, to follow the market and to take the chance.But still, there are projects that are carefully designed and architects (including architectural students) pursuing for their dreams. So the present situation might be changed and become better. Hope there could be more free platforms just like goood for arch-communication.

What is your dream?
My dream is to live in a wonderland with all my beloved ones after self-fulfillment in this world. My present goal is to become a good architect.

What would you do if you were not an architect?
Writer like Echo

 
What is your dream project?
My own house which fulfill all my requirements for working and resting. It should be at the side of a cliff or in the deep of a mountain.

What is your favourite project in your portfolio? Why?
I don’t have any favourite yet. I will keep update my portfolio so that I could keep looing for better ways of representation and add more detail to my design. Most of my design is conceptual at present but I want to make them more realistic.

在MAD实习最大的收获是什么？
在MAD的实习是一段很有意义的经历。在这里我认识了很多新朋友，看到了很多人不同的生活方式，英亚体育与中超联赛达成官方合作了顶级的事务所的方案流程，软件技能上也有很大的提高。我在实习期间一直在巴黎公寓项目组，这是一个将要建成的项目，当前正在DD和SD之间的阶段。我自己非常喜欢这个项目，因为在这个项目里，我了解到了3D模型是如何应用到施工和建造上，如何将看似任意的形体最终用精确而标准化的方式表达出来。这也是我在所有的实习中第一次接触到项目实施阶段，我觉得很幸运。

我对于现在的作品集不是很满意,也没有最喜欢的作品。以前的一些作品有很好的想法但是却没有很好的表达，设计始终缺乏深度。以后会继续完善。

SKY JOINT

This design oriented from piece of description of Hogwarts’main hall, which says its roof changes according to outside climate. Thus, I created a ever-changing roof by making it transparent, and a gradual change from open nature to indoor enclosure by sinking and transformation of the origin roof.

这个项目的概念来自于《哈利波特》中对于霍格沃茨主宴会厅的描述，说因为施了魔法的缘故，天花板会随着外面天空的变化而改变。在我的设计中，我直接采用了屋顶下沉的方式，将原来作为屋顶的顶面延伸到裙房的中庭，再延伸到塔楼部分，希望在模糊内外边界的同时用自然要素作为联系塔楼和裙楼体量的纽带，将室外要素引入室内。

SHADOW RUBBING

For most of time, facade provides shelter and enclosure of the building, while having comparatively less interactive with people. To discover a way in which people can actually experience facade, it’s my purpose in this design. Due to its museum function, I also research into people’s behavior pattern when seeing an exhibition, I hope that people can feel more of the time and history held by displays, rather than displays themselves. So I combine these two elements together and create an emotional facade.The skin is also not just specifically stay on the surface of building. Via light and shadow, fade becomes part of art piece presented.

这个项目是一个汉画像石艺术馆。基本概念是希望人们在观赏展品的时候可以直接触摸和感知到展品，而不仅是远远的观望。我的设计方法是将一副汉画像石拓片印在表皮上，通过镂空表皮制造的阴影让人能与展品有一种互动。在这个项目中我考虑更多的可能是行为心理学。以及人作为一个英亚体育与中超联赛达成官方合作要素如何能与英亚体育与中超联赛达成官方合作功能产生更好互动的问题。

DOUBLE TWIST

The major concept in this renovation project lies in research of “TWIST”. TWIST is a method in form generation, often used to closely connect several parallel units. We tried to create a constant feeling of twisted flowing space both inside building and outside. Thus, we generated our indoor space volume from pattern of twisted arms to make space containers transformed, meanwhile developed its skin from twisted plates to shelter inner space.

这是一个旧厂房改造的项目，方式是团队合作。这里的理念主要是通过表皮和内部空间的双重扭转，暗示新旧的交织，包括新表皮和旧空间。新功能和旧结构等。
